Cookie Policy

1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on a user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when they visit it. They allow the website to recognise the device on future visits, remember preferences and collect statistical information about usage.

In addition to cookies, similar technologies such as web beacons, pixels and local storage (localStorage) may be used, which work in an analogous manner.

The use of cookies in the context of electronic communications is regulated by the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC), transposed into Portuguese law by Law No. 41/2004 of 18 August, as amended by Decree-Law No. 7/2004 of 7 January, and by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR — EU Regulation 2016/679).

3. Legal Basis

Essential/necessary cookies: their storage is based on SteerCFO's legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to ensure the correct functioning of the website and to store the user's fundamental preferences. These cookies do not require prior consent.

Analytical and third-party cookies: their placement is subject to the user's prior, informed consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained via the cookie banner displayed on the first visit. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

4. How to Manage and Disable Cookies

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie banner on the website, or through your browser settings. Below are instructions for the most common browsers:

Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.

Mozilla Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.

Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.

Microsoft Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions.

For more information on managing cookies across all browsers, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

5. Consequences of Disabling Cookies

Disabling essential cookies may affect the correct functioning of the website, in particular the storage of language preferences and cookie consent.

Disabling analytical cookies does not affect website functionality, but prevents us from improving the browsing experience based on real usage data.

Disabling third-party cookies (e.g. Calendly) may prevent scheduling widgets embedded in the website from loading correctly.

6. International Transfers

Some of the third-party cookie providers referred to in this policy (notably Google, Vercel and Calendly) may transfer and process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers are carried out using Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable.
